Buying Tickets

When purchasing event tickets, be wary of counterfeits or offers that are too good to be true. Here are a few tips to follow:

  • Check the venue's ticket policies. Find out how tickets are being sold and what kind of tickets will be accepted at the event. For example, some events only accepts e-tickets or don't allow the transfer of tickets.
  • Be skeptical of offers that seem to good to be true. Be wary of tickets sold significantly below face value, particularly for events that are sold out or in high demand.
  • Inspect tickets. Educate yourself on characteristics of legitimate tickets, and look for these when you inspect the ticket. For example, some events have tickets with holograms or other markings that are difficult to replicate. Inspect both the front and the back of tickets.
  • Avoid risky payment methods. Be wary of sellers who ask for non-traditional payment methods such as gift cards or wire transfers, as these are risky and difficult to recover.
